Did the '77 cowl have the vent tub on the inside, but not cut out on the outside? I'll have to see if I can grab a pic, but I do remember it looked like part of the vent assembly was buried up there on the underside of the cowl....

Well, something is off in the information, either the data base or this particular truck. Door jamb VIN tag matches to the frame serial - all the same.

Does @beno or @cruiserdan have access to frame/build date info? Far too easy to swap things around from various rigs to make a complete one, I know some parts are not original to this '77, or whatever it is. North American market seems to be a bit fuzzy at times anyway, perhaps the dates don't line up due to production versus export time frames?

Saw this post and had a very similar question - can't seem to resolve.

I have a 1977 with a VIN door plate and frame number that match - both look to be a July 1977 build -VIN FJ40 253568. However, my engine stamp looks like it's possibly a 1978 - engine number 2F -361695. Not a big concern except possible parts matching issues. Just want to make sure there are no engine mismatch concerns (and for piece of mind to see if it was a replacement motor from a new FJ40.

Thoughts?
