When I finally brought my cruiser back to life this past spring, it had a sticky lifter, identifiable by a periodic downward tick in the vacuum gauge while idling. After a half can of seafoam in the oil, the sticky lifter unsticked itself.

It may have been the additive, or it may have been the increased use that did the trick, but I'm inclined to believe that the seafoam helped.
 
ATF would do the same. As would simply running the rig more or using a detergent oil... Nothing special there.

Agreed, I would use ATF in the engine oil. A little can do hard seals some good. More is not better though.

I used Seafoam in the fuel to try to remedy problems that I thought were caused by varnish in the fuel injection system. It did appear to work for that, but no data to support that if you exclude the SOP dyno.
