Hello All,
Would like to the some opinions on whether some rain gutter rust is repairable on my 84' FJ 60, or if I should start the search for cleaner body. This is only major rust on her, but it seems like it's in the worst possible place to cut and repair, has anyone dealt with this successfully?

Anything’s possible - just a matter of how much time and effort you want to spend vs. how many other options you have.

It’s somewhat hard to see where that is - above the rear side windows? That isn’t going to be the easiest spot to work with, but certainly not undoable.

I definitely remember seeing a thread on roof repair... I think it was in the 70 Series forum.

Maybe this? BJ70 roof repair
Maybe not: I think someone must have had more pics and info in their build thread.

If you could find and cut out the same area from a junker that is sound, the job would be easier.

I'd get the window and trim off/out and then cut out a rectangle with my 4.5 inch cut-off wheel.
