Hey guys, I'm new here to the forum, and to my 02 LC.

I've read quite a bit about the "ticking" coming from the engine, and attribute it to the design flaw in the stock EM. I want to add the DT headers in order to fix this problem and add a little more hp and torque at the same time.

I've heard that they only fail the visual inspection for certain states, mostly CA. Has anyone had issues with passing emissions in other states, besides the visual?

Thanks
Steven

DT reports that they are very close to CARB certification. Was part of their original plan but the ball got dropped for a period of time.

I have had zero problems in Oregon and have gone through inspection twice with them installed.

In California, there are two components to passing a smog test, the emissions test and the visual inspection.

I passed the emission test but failed the visual inspection. As a result, I failed the smog test.

I hope that this answers your question.

If there is any question, I'd wait for this to be confirmed before dropping coin…

EO tag issue is almost concluded. A new thread will be posted to have corrections to non CARB tagged headers contact Doug Thorley about getting a tag mailed to them soon.

The only place I've heard of troubles is California because you have to comply with CARB and DT is NOT CARB compliant yet. They're currently working on it I believe so if you live in CA I'd wait until they get their CARB certification, if you live anywhere else then I'd say you're fine. It looks to me like you live in AZ so I would think you could pass emissions there, but for the record DT has stated these headers are currently for off-road use only (because of the CARB issue).

Passed in ohio.

I've got a similar question. I'm thinking of buying a 2003 100 Series LC that was first sold in Washington, Oregon, someplace other than CA. It's now back east. We're they made to pass CA smog certification, or is this something I'll never pass? A friend told me if it was sold in another state and has over 75,000 mi it doesn't have too get smog tested in CA. Sounds too good to be true... Any info is appreciated...
