Well your kicking butt and taken names... That first hole for the snorkel is a tough one...point of no return! Looking good!

The winch mount is in. There are some differences with the Prado to GX that needed to be addressed:

- there are body mount pieces protruding in front of the radiator and under the lights that have to be removed.
- There is an extra AC line that has to be moved and re-secured, and it is even more difficult because it goes through where the reinforcement bracket goes.

Bumper is finally on, with the winch in it. I haven't wired the lights or the winch. It took a long time to figure out how much to cut and where.

I had to trim the following:

- ~3 inches off of each fender lip
- most of the forward headlight mounting bracket (outside)
- A good portion of the inner fender rubber (expected)
- Will still need to trim ~3 inches off of the fender flare to remount
- ~1 inch off of the inner upper lip of the bumper (right by the hood) to clearance for the Lexus style hood. I worked it in then out to make it look nice

The winch is simple...crazy simple. I noticed some of the bolts in the kit were not the right length (long), but I just got the right length and no worries.

Here are some pics:

Wow! You are a man of determination! I must have missed this in the thread, do they not make stuff for your rig? Looking good...keep it up!

Nope, there are no GX470 off road bumpers. Iron Man 4x4 makes the closest to a "stock fit" with their Aussie spec 120 land cruiser prado bumper. This one is the first in the US.

I think it looks super though :)

That looks great! They should sticky this thread. You may have the first in the US, but I have a feeling it won't be the last!

Indeed, I know a lot of people were asking/watching this thread. I will say this, the actual bumper fitment and some of the changes I had to make to the truck and the bumper would dictate that a professional install this thing. If you messed up on your own you couldn't remove it and go to stock again.

I guess that is why I was confident, I know a bit and I have ACC down the road in case I got in the weeds :)

No risk...No reward! Good work!

237 measurements later and I can confirm it is on straight, it is level side to side, the hood works, and the weight from the new stuff actually squatted the front down enough to spread the IFS back out and it is no longer 1/4 narrower at the tire on each side.

WIN

Flare is on.

Looks even better with the flare on! I'm not trying to pick, but I saw there was a gap between the bumper and the fender without the flare...but no gap between the flare and the bumper. When the bumper flexes it will push against the flare, but it's at least just the flare. It's amazing how much the bumpers flex.
Your rig is looking great!

There is a gap there, it is hard to see since I painted the underside of the fender. The gap is smaller, but the flare is actually flexy right there due to the cuts I had to make. I am going to use some silicone and bind the top of the flare to the body a bit better and it will be fine. I drove it hard this AM and hit as much as I could (bumps) to see if I could hear or feel it hitting and nothing seemed to have a problem. If I see more problems I can always just zip a new line across using the dremel to increase the gap.

Cool...right on. :D

I cut them more, I managed to shake them too much after a bit of "testing" :)

Winch is wired up...very easy install. I opted to install the control box inside the bumper, PS of vehicle inverted and bolted to the top plate. It allows the plug to be accessed from the larger hole on top and gives a cleaner look. I will be mounting LED bars on the top rail so I was less concerned about cannibalizing the light mount hole.

Some pics of the wiring and winch install:

Very clean protection plate mounting right into the ASFIR aluminum skids. Took all of 5 minutes, super simple:

You can see the control box mounting hardware in the bottom left. I installed the control box inside the bumper to protect it and to keep the smexy looks:

The keyed power is a nice touch when you have a wireless remote. There is a wired remote as well. The wireless remote has an off switch, but still, the cut off is nice for draw, etc reasons too. The line speed is pretty impressive for a 12k winch. Decided for just a D ring vs. anything else. I may splice in a safety thimble at some point in the future:
