After taking a break from the cruiser world (dont ask...) I decided to buy another one. I spent over a month looking at cruisers hoping one would pop up in the area and be in good shape. That didnt happen, so last weekend my brother and I made the 20 hour round trip to VA to pickup a clean 60 from Marc311. It was definantly worth the trip even though we left at 5:30am and got back at 1am. Right now I'm building a front bumper thats very similar to the one 2mbb built. Current plans include front and rear bumpers, rock sliders, SOA and some 35s. I hope to have the front bumper most of the way done tomorrow, we'll see if that happens or not though. I'm also trying to figure out why my fuel gauge stopped working. Checked the sender, its fine, cleaned up the contacts on the gauge, still nothing. I think all thats left is to get a new one.

Here are some pictures I took...

Glad to see you back!

Nice starting point you got!

what brand console is that? Looks like a good fit. I was thinking of getting a Tuffy but your looks interesting.

That's a clean rig. Got any big plans for this one? It was you who had the frame off'ed maroon 60 about a year ago, right?

Yup that was me. Plans are spring over, 35s, bumpers, sliders, if I get bored I might try my hand at an internal cage, but not sure.

nice looking cruiser! do you have any more pics of the console in the cruiser, i am really thinking about getting one and it looks better in the cruiser than i thought it would!
Thanks! I'll see if I can get you some more pictures tomorrow.

Sweet. There are getting to be quite a few more SOA rigs on here these days. Seems like every other week there is another conversion starting up.

That's the same console I have. I don't have any complaints about security though, seems to work pretty well for the money.

Here are the pictures of the console.

I'm going to order the parts for the SOA tomorrow. Trying to decide between the Trail Gear steering or the extra $100 for the Marlin steering.

Marlin has the bling factor, but when it comes down to it, the arms don't typically break, the steering knuckle studs break.

I ended up buying the TG steering..saved me $100. My next issue is my knuckles were just rebuilt not too long ago. So I dont need the bearings and shims, all I need are the gaskets and seals. What are people doing about the brake lines for the SOA? The longest braided lines I can find are for a 4in lift.

Either get custom lines made or buy the 25 1/2" long SS brake line MAF is selling. It's listed for a 40, but the fittings are the same. The frame bracket is a little different for a 60, but the clips fit so it's solid.

FYI, I have the 4" model in the front of my 60 and it's working pretty well, for now. It fit when the suspension was in full droop ( no weight on the axle ).

I dont see a 25 1/2" line listed. Or is it just the 4in lift line for the 40s?

Yup missed that..so I need 2 of them?

I bought the 25.5" long one first, and then the FJ60 4" lift second. It works for me. If I did it again, I'd just get two of the longer ones.
