Hey there, just wanted to introduce myself. I am Scott and I have lived in Nevada for about 8 years now. I wheeled with you guys on Steve's loop maybe about 2 years ago. Then I tore apart my 73 FJ40. I put a TBI 350 in it and 1 ton chevy axles, 14 bolt with a spool in the back and a dana 44 with a detroit in the front. The front is moved about 4" forward and the rear is about 10" back. It still needs a lot of work but it is getting there.

I can't wait to see how the new mods do. With the new wife and kid makes it hard to get to the trails. I am going to try to come to the next meeting. I would like to get a cage in it befor I really twist it up.

I LOVE that rear quarter chop and trim you did on that thing!
Looks really clean!

Nice to meet you!

Keith

I like that chop too! I did mine a month or so ago. Think I might put the trim like that on mine though, cleans it up nice. Went ahead and cut all but about 3 inches off the front fenders also.....I HATE SHEETMETAL!!!! :grinpimp:

Dude...
Youre doing all this work on that damn rig of yours, and youre not even kickin any info or pics to your brothers here on the board who, BTW, are probably the only ones who REALLY cares about what is being done. Damn sure your wife doesnt (if shes anything like mine), nor your co workers (if theyre anything like mine).:D

In short....WHERE's the WRITE UP AND PICS!!!

There isn't much to write up really. Take cut off wheel, mark lines, cut, grind edges, rattle can the damage, get ready for bigger tires! They were really both out of necessity. The back had been bashed in too many times, and the front pass. fender got DEMOLISHED at Moon Rocks a few weeks ago. I tried to post a few pics from a few days ago that showed the front and rear chop jobs, but for some reason it keeps saying Upload of File Failed?????

Hello there Chris, get some pics of that 40 on here! I'm a snake lover, always have been. My beloved red tail died a few months back, waiting for the right moment for a carpet python!

Almost in....

Been in town for awhile but just getting hooked up with all the sites and figured it was time for a proper intro. Bringing a bone stock HJ-47 Troopy to the mix..needs a little here and there but over all in pretty good shape. We have three kids under 5, so not much time for anything, but every now and again it gets out and about. Probably won't make meetings in Reno, but look forward to meeting up with the folks around Fallon.

I don't know if that was you I saw next to me a few weeks ago on Longley Lane near Peckham going South? I was in the 'spresso colored 100. Or it was someone with a rig just like yours :)

Wasn't me, never have driven mine to Reno. She only runs about 57mph on the road, so I don't go far unless I have to.

There is another white 45 and a tan 47 running around town, could have been one of them. I was hoping the other 47 owner was on here for some diesel help....my glow system is acting up.

Thanks. But like other pretty things...very tempermental. Definitely not liking these cold temps.

Yeah, mine is a little aggravating in the cold too. Maybe when I get back from New Orleans on the 24th, I can get up with you and take a look at that thing! I've never had the chance to really look at one of those bad boys before.

Chris

Part of the TG boondoggle?! I thought I had seen your rig on base....I'm over at strike. I'll let her warm up for about three days a bring her to work.

Probably did see mine, but don't follow too close, rust tends to fall off here and there.....that's why I cut as much of the sheetmetal I can!!

You can find me in the Ordnance shop over at NSAWC.

Now you can't just go and introduce yourself, then post cruiser porn and not tell us anything about your troopie.:D

So give us the full run down on it. Obviously diesel, rhd or lhd?, miles/kilometers, etc.

By the way, welcome.

Jack
