Based on your collective experience: Is mounting the aux cooler to the radiator core using little through clips a good or bad idea for an offroad/expedition rig? I like reliability.

Relevant Information:
I have a Derale 15331 combination transmission/power steering cooler that I need to mount in my FJ40.
No mount tabs or anything on it.

One way to mount it is using these clips.

It's a really bad idea on a wheeling rig. Best idea is to make a mount that ties into the radiator support.

OK, i figured it was bad but wanted confirmation just in case it was ok. Thanks. Looks like I need to figure out a decent mount.

I would assume the holes to the side of the core are mounting holes.... could use flat bar or small square tubing to span a distance, then bolt the cooler to it. Obviously you can also weld up a frame and put it wherever you deem appropriate...

Make some mounts yourself

I have not sensing a set of Borg Wagner lights in years..

Are your the H4 with the low and high beam..??

They are and I love them too .. having hard time to find some " new " technology to replace them ..

Tell me about it, they made the lenses/reflectors just right, the pattern is perfect and the shell is super durable, I have mine for 14 maybe 15 years and nothing even comes close, plus the dual beam is just perfect for day to day driving (Living in california, never ever a problem)
