I bought a hard top to windshield metal attachment cap/eyebrow from CCOT to replace the one on my top which is pretty well rotted out. The original piece attaches to the fiberglass top with rivets. I was thinking of instead using one of the automotive panel bonding adhesives instead of rivets. From what I read and have heard, the adhesive is pretty strong, and is even used in production on some automotive applications. For the purpose of attaching the eyebrow to the fiberglass top, this might work well. It's not a really high stress joint(?), but there is some force on there when installing and setting up against the windshield. Thoughts? Yes/no? Don't do it !!! Or, give it a go and what's the worst that can happen?
Thanks.
