question....they only list them as 9/73. but what about 9/72 model which is same as 73. Was it a different boot? or not used at all?

I didn't notice the year stipulation. I think they are all the same. You can contact @cityracer65 here on mud or through his web site with year model questions.

9/'73 is basically a '74 model year.

The inner and the outer boots are different prior to that.

I guess to clarify my question. Was there a inner boot for the 9/72 model? The tub and tunnel where the same as 74 model AFAIK. I don't see a listing for the inner boot anywhere prior to 74. I would guess that the boot you list would work.

ToyoDIY says "Not Applicable" for a '72. It's called "Cover, Front Drive Dust".

The outer boot is certainly a different part number (58280-60020), and amazingly it is still available:

Now if I could just find the inner and outer boot for my '83! Now that's unobtanium, it seems.
