and ive got no extra funds for its replacement. so im gong to give it one last go on getting my mutt of a cruiser street legal the fj needs a hydro carbon system to pass the visual inspection of emissions testing but she passes the actual sniff test. can anyone post up some pictures of your system so i can try and HollyWood my way through it? months of searching ebay has failed to turn up a 78 hydrocarbon system


if all else fails i may have to do a swap for a v8 but id rather keep the frame and engine together... they seem to be attached to one another~

i dont want to have to sell her for a boring shiny car

-BVSV - cannot remember if there are 1 or two and which color you need
-VTV (?)
-VCV (?)
-Computer

It would be rare to find a whole "system" for sale, most often it's the individual components. So you need to know specifically what you are looking for and what you are lacking. Pick up a Haynes manual - it's cheap and covers all the components.

great list thanks, yeah i need the entire system, mine seems to be factory capped at the engine and im 3rd owner with no way of contacting the first to figure out where the rig started and why it came without a system. i cant remember exactly but i think the original vin coded it out of canada

Well if you can prove that by VIN then maybe you have a chance of not needing emissions. Do you have importation paperwork or anything else? I would be interested to see pictures of your current setup, would you please post?

If your saying that the air injection ports on the head are capped over, then it did have smog equipment originally. IIRC my Haynes Manual has diagrams of all these parts.
