That rear cover is kinda cool. :)
Good luck.

* That engine bay photo makes me want to get a rag and a can of degreaser and get to work on my 13B-T.

do the rear seats fold down under the tonneau cover?

Yes, its really a great soft top system I had built. It consists of a cover for the cab, and a cover for the truck bed/rear So with both parts off the back is completely uncovered and the rear seats are fully usable in the rear. You can also just take the cab top off and keep the rear seat and cargo area covered, or fold rear cover back and under and make the rear seat available . The kids love the top down sitting in the rear !

I was going to make a bikini for it as well but never got a round to that.

The cab roof use an aluminum track to slide in on top of windshield and snaps all around. It is water tight. Even in cold weather the dual heat in truck cooks up toasty in the truck! The two systems zip together below the rear window. There is also virtually no flapping as I keep teh fan on at 2 which amazeingly keeps the whole thing pressurized, of course opening the window will cause some buffeting

I like the top too

Wow, I don't think I could let that go!

Who made it, and how much did it cost?

Looks like you cut down rear doors, but how does the top fasten to them

Im interested. Any pics of it with the factory hard top?

Thanks

Tom

When you buy it, I can give you a couple of good haulers in the area that brought mine from Canada.

All I want is the soft top so I can have it copied!

Nice truck!

Hi, I have had the factory roof off for a few years now, so don't have many pictures of the hard top, I can assure you that I have the original rear doors, ( in mint condition ) and the hard top stored in my garage. The soft top 1/2 height rear doors are actually from a Canadian spec BJ that I cut at the window pillar level. So the pictures I will attach do not reflect the pictures of how the truck looks today, ie , pre sliders, custom bumpers and ARB snorkel. Were all add more recently ( as $$ became available LOL )

I have not been very good at answering some of the questions on this post, sorry about that. So here are some answers..
- Yes the rear seats fold down under the cover, with top off the truck seats five as intended.
-The roof system uses a slide in groove for the top front, and Velcro and " push" button snaps for all other fastenings. ( no issues at speed, wind noise minimal )
- there are also two bowed bars that sit across the bed to give the cover an arch to keep water accumulation off the cover.
-The roof is amazingly water tight, ( driving in storm rains no water came with the exception of a few drops at the doors.
- An aluminium rail is bolted to the truck bed perimeter including rear half doors this has the button snaps, removal of rails allows for factory roof to be put on.
-entire set up was designed by myself to allow removal to put Factory hardtop back on.
-the roof was made by a local boat canvas specialist, we worked together on final design.
From the first pic below picture you can see seating with roof off, note the canvas is rolled down behind seat, but still covering cargo are to keep " stuff " in. The second picture shows a better view of original unmolested door for when hard top is on. The last one is the doors before the repaint.

Hope this answers some of the questions asked, and yes I love this truck, but keeping up two trucks is an expensive venture, my HDJ81 is my daily driver and my camper/expedition vehicle. If I don't get a fair price for this BJ, I will most certainly hang on to it as I absolutely love this truck in the summer! For real offers, please PM me!

No it has not been sold, in a sense I am glad it did not, I have been driving it all summer as my HDJ81 transmission packed it in. The veg system has been working so well ( and I have an excellent veg oil source ) that I saved over 3 K this year in diesel costs ! Yeah for veg. Truck is for sale, but price is not negotiable.

Price seems reasonable for a good BJ.

Do all 74s have removable rear door upper halves?
