    Driveshaft nuts/washers

I need the part #'s for the nut & washer on the rear driveshaft where it mounts to the parking brake drum. The Toyota dealers microfiche page shows that it is the same as the 3 other mounting points on the driveshafts, which are flanged bolt/flanged nut/flat washer. I have those #'s. Any...

    Rear bench seat for FJ40

That was Con-Ferr and they don't make them anymore. I researched this for almost a year while I was finishing my 40. The closest I could find IMO is a used rear seat from a late model j**p TJ. Quite a few people have said they fit pretty good. I Kept the stock jump seats.

    Opinions wanted!  15x10's w/ 3.625" backspacing

Re: Opinions wanted!  15x10's w/ 3.625" backspacin That is the exact wheel, backspacing, size that I run on my '78 fj40. I run 35 x 12.50 Pro Comps. Use a 1/4" spacer, like the one BTB Products in Nevada sells. Still plenty of threads for the nuts.

    XFER OUPUT SHAFT LEAK

Stock transfer case on stock transnission ('78 40) is leaking behind parking brake drum. It sounds like, from what I hear, a common problem in these. I have not looked in the manuals yet and I am sure some on this board has had to replace this seal. Any tricks or suggestions?

No power from engine to driveshaft

Everything is together. I ended up using the transmission adapter welded to a spare floor jack. Put the rear tires on ramps, about 12" high, and with new 35" tires got a lot of room to move around. Worked pretty slick.

No power from engine to driveshaft

Yeah...the disc was in backwards. I was too tired after that job to laugh because even the sticker on the disc that says "flywheel side" was still on it :stupid: !! Still gotta wrestle the trans/xfer back in today. What have you guys used to hold and lift this assembly working from the garage...

    repairing an old gerry can

U.S. Standard is the name of the sealer. POR-15 sells the kit with the gumout, cleaner, sealer & stabilizer. They have one kit that is sized for a motorcycle tank that is about $27.00. Eastwood Automotive has a similar kit that is car fuel tank size only at around $40.00. Could buy a new can for...

No power from engine to driveshaft

New centerforce clutch and stock trans/xfer with sbc. This drivetrain was assembled and put aside more than 4 years ago and was put in the vehicle a couple months ago. Cannot get clutch pressure to flywheel. Anything to do with sitting for that long? Scratching my head here and seeing if this...

    headliner for 40

I put rhinolining on. It looks uniform, won't sag, chip and you can hose it off.

GM TBI Fuel Lines to stock FJ40 tank

Thanks Woody, the guy's at NAPA can't seem to find the repair kit # you mentioned, you have that? Put a Holley electric pump high enough up on the right inside frame rail. And Gumby u are right, that return line connection is the one I will use on the stock tank.

GM TBI Fuel Lines to stock FJ40 tank

What have you guys done when hooking up fuel lines from a GM TBI (V8)? What connectors from back of TBI unit (threaded) to stock push on tank connections (78 FJ40).

    16" Rims on an FJ40?

Wheel is a 17" x 8" and the tire is a BFG Mud Terrain in 37 x 12.50 R 17. Sweet combo on the hiway and them along with 4" BTB Legends springs set-up and a 1-1/2" body lift really looks great and body damage is a rare moment indeed.

    16" Rims on an FJ40?

Have 17" rims on my rig. These have been available for a couple of years. Try BTB Products in Nevada.

    painless wiring kit

Painless P/N 10107 is the Landcruiser, Scout & Bronco basic harness. This is the one to use if your '71 is basically still stock (motor and no air conditioning). P/N 10101 is a 12-circuit harness like the 10107, but is set up to use with a GM-style steering column. Which in my case, for...
