I got a chance to talk to my printer today about the Nylon 618 material. This material should be good for decades. All plastic will degrade over time as the plasticizer evaporates, but this material should be good for in excess of 20 years. The 618 has a very wide temperature rating (melts at over 200 degrees C), so it should be good for automotive application and is a little more slippery than other plastics.

I hope this helps, I will start a list of the quantities people expressed interest in and y'all can confirm.

Thanks guys. I have a picture of the plunger to post and we can finalize the design,

Here is a really bad pic of the groove on the side of the handle plunger that accepts the gasket - see that the groove runs the entire length.

Here is am image of the design. I think we could leave it as-is just fine, or I could ask him to make both sides symmetrical. The symmetrical approach looks like it would match the original piece. I'll ask him to make the change and then order up the sets.
