What's a running 22r with 120psi across all 4 cylinders worth? Thinking about swapping to a sbc350.
 
It's worth a rebuild.
 
I know but if i go thru with my idea i am going to need the extra power.

Ok gots a mystery. Idles fine at 2k but not much lower. I assumed it was vacuum leak. Just went thru a bottle of carb cleaner spraying any and everything to no avail. Should i replace plugs and rotor/cap and try again?
 
I have not replaced them since bringing it comes by the way.
 
How do you check a egr valve?
 
There's a diagnostic procedure in the FSM. You need a vacuum source, I use a MitiVac tool.
 
Found a video on YouTube that said to use a vacuum pump to test if valve will hold vacuum.....

Found missing hose for #2. Will idle at 1400 or so but dies otherwise. Going to tune it up next. Also going to have to treat the gas tank. Full of rust.
 
Played around with the truck this morning. Will start like a champ but dies after idling about 3 minutes or so. Could the choke be bad?
 
I haven't done a lot to the truck lately. I start it up every other week or so and let it run for a couple minutes. I definitely have to either get the tank treated or replace it. Anyone running an aftermarket tank? I am thinking it would cost about the same to treat the current tank than change it to an aftermarket from summit etc.
Purrs like a kitten as long as I run fuel from any other fuel source other than the stock tank. Full of rust...
 
Stuffed a mini basketball in the dent. Popped most of the dent right out. Very close to having the door ready to shut.
 
Got the door to close but takes some force. For some reason the bottom hinge binds up. Going to have yo locate another. I didn't quite get the cab straight so I put some washers behind the striker plate as spacers. Ghetto as hell but hey I'm building a wheeler :)
