anyone use this fluid for the tranny in our 80s?

No but I have used it and a few other of their products in my car and their all top shelf. I wouldn't hesitate for a second just because of the brand, Pentosin is good stuff.

So replacing the Toyota dex III with the pentosin would a good idea?

Wait for others to check in as I'm still a bit of an 80 noob but if the Pentosin meets the requirements/specs for our trucks then absolutely yes.


I have my 80 stored in Amazon's "garage" that matches parts with stored vehicles, and it says this is a match.

We used the ATF 1 in the newer BMW's at the BMW shop I used to work at. It meets a very specific set of fluid requirements and I don't know if it would be the best thing for the cruiser transmission. I would stick with regular Dextron III fluid for the cruiser. Pentosin makes good products, I just don't know if their ATF 1 is the right thing for an 80 series.

I've been running Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF, the A343F transmission shifts very well with that Dexron spec fluid, now at 345,000 miles on the vehicle.
