I would sure to bring a warm sleeping bag as well. 34 Yesterday and 35 this morning. It was up to 53 by 8:00 this morning so maybe a warming trend. I know it's suppose to be hot in the valley today.

My electric blanket has proven to be useful down to as low as 13 degrees.

Got the camping spot. Look for the CSC sign.

Here are the directions from the Flagstaff airport turn off.

FS 535 is 7.4 miles from the second round about. Turn west and reset odometer.
2.6 miles, take the left.
4.7 miles, take right.
5.4 miles, take left.
6.3 miles, turn into FS 536.
6.8 miles, turn left.
8.9 miles, take the detour to the right, FS 538.
10.2 miles, take left. Follow detour signs.
15.4 miles, turn left onto 231.
22 miles, FS 792 is on your left, go straight. (For reference only).
22.7 miles, FS 9011R is on your right, turn and head to the camp site.
FS 9011R is by far the worst road. Go slow, especially if it is dark.

Cell coverage is spotty on the FS roads, by Verizon works at the camp site.

Drive safely.

Approximately how long did it take you to drive from the start of 535 to the camp site?

At the airport exit you need to turn left (south) on 89A to get to 535. Back in Aug we just traveled on 231 to just south of I40 overpass. From there a all weather road over to 89A just north of the airport exit. I didn't think mileage was near that far. Maybe Eric @Pitch can shed some light here. 535 is the way to get to Sedona.

It took me a little over an hour. I had to deal with the detour. And I pull a trailer.

I was looking at the mileage wrong wrong it makes sense now. Other than washboard is a good road and if traveling all the way to airport south of Flagstaff is another option with no detour.

The view and our spot.

I'm out, got sick on my biz trip. Enjoy!

We will see everyone at camp. A late start but we will be there for the best part!

Here is the jpeg of the detour route. Closed until late December for a bridge repair

This map make sense of the detour. Think I remember signs about the up coming bridge rebuild back in Aug. Was very tempted to drive over. Less then fifty miles away as the crow flies. With the detour about a hundred miles by driving. Too much pavement driving with a cast. If there was just a way closer to the rim to get from Interstate 17 to 89A rather driving all the way to Flagstaff.
