I'm finally getting around to posting some pictures of the new addition to our family :D

This popped up for sale on the local market, I really went to look at it just to look at it, he wanted a bit more than I was willing to pay, after seeing how good of condition it was in (relative to the typical Utah rig), I had to have it. The only way I was convincing my wife we needed another Land Cruiser was to make it hers :D

The plans are pretty simple, build it up for a weekend rig for her... let here run to the grocery store, garden center, and to lunch with the gals... mabey take it on a camping trip or two.

Plans:

Body re-work, repair as much as I can, replace the tailgate, its hammered.

R&R interior, I've source most of the door/window weatherstripping

Motor overhaul? Likely later down the road, it actually runs pretty decent now

Tidy up the wiring, thankfully they left it 99% intact. With the exception of a horn and an aftermarket ignition switch is all original. I have a couple early ignition switches, I'm going to try and have one rekeyed to match the original key (fits the door).

More to come...

Parts I Need: Let me know if you know of a source!
PTO Winch (where are they when I actually want one :D )
Bug catcher window w/s (anyone making these again?)
Tailgate
OE Carb (has Rochester but runs)
Hub caps (have later model ones I will likely use, but I'de like a full set of the period correct ones)
Rear Tailight assemblies
Rear tailight plugs for vehicle side of harness (this one has been hacked)
Repro Engine, Heater, etc stickers (FoxFab do these??)
Fuse Block Cover

i have an OE carb. big window. rebuilt by Mudrak. i ran it for 500 miles max, and then pulled the engine for a diesel swap. it came out of my FJ45 lwb. too bad you are not closer, i have a brand new exhaust system with less miles on it.

maybe we can work a trade. you have something i want..........

That looks in pretty damn good shape. Should be a cool rig when done. Good luck.

i have a ramsey pto if your interested maybe parts trade? pm me if interested

If I go PTO I'm going to stick with the OE unit, thanks for offering though :D

Nice Kurt!!!
I have a OEM PTO winch setup that is all complete. I thought about using it at some point or another but somehow all my rigs end up with H55F's and I can't use the PTO any more. I may be able to be convinced of letting it go.

Call me at the shop if you are interested. Also, Jeremiah has some of the older carbs if you are interested.

I promised my wife the next cruiser I bought. Put it on some 38s and the truck will be yours.

I may have a front hubcap with a hole in it. I don't have lock-outs on my '63 so no need to have a hole in the hubcap.

If you decide to get rid of that rear bumper, let me know. Mine was welded to the frame and beat up, so I threw in the scrap heap...Now I want an old-school step bumper.

Oooh, I would be interested in the cap :D

I'll let you know on the bumper, its a bit tweaked but I think I can straighten it.

That's a tease... more pics! Nice score Kurt!

Weaherstrip

It's available on ebay but pricey. I used the same line with my wife and it's worked so far.

Its been a slow build so far :D

Actually the only thing I've done is swap the starter and spark plugs. My wife is hoping we can get some work done on it tomorrow. I hope so too

The real major need, well I guess I don't need it this minute but I want to get is the bug-catcher w/s... anyone... anyone??

Looking forward to the progress, from what i hear... you do things right! Need more pictures!

Kurt, good looking LPB and your wife will have a blast with it! :)
