I don't think those tube doors fit the 40 :frown:

I got my own source :flipoff2:

Ordered something from Marlin 3 months ago and have yet to receive it. They won't credit me back and keep telling me the parts should be in any day now (aka check's in the mail). Not sure I would do business with them again. jm $.02

Howdy! I made a small order a couple of months ago, and recieved my stuff in about a week. What did you order, Gold Plated Hen's Teeth?? John

Couldn't afford the hen's teeth:hillbilly:

I ordered a set of HD front axle seals for a customer that was getting their front axle rebuilt. I ended up using OEM seals and sending them on their way. I know Marlin is an icon in the industry and has a great reputation. However, all of that means nothing when the first order you place with a company amounts to nothing more than flushing your money down the drain.

Yea, that's pretty much what I ordered. Maybe I got the last set!?!? Actually, I just dug out the paperwork, and that's all I ordered from him on 23 Sept. I made several other orders from other vendors the same day, and his was the first to arrive here. SOR took several days longer. At least it's an item you wont' have any trouble unloading if/when it ever gets here. I think mine was about $20, so at least your not out too much. John

If they were for an '80 series, I say, no great loss, not a fan of them in that application. I have a set, if you would have posted that you need them could have borrowed or bought them. I have been waffling on the decision to run them, if I sold them it would make that decision easier!:hillbilly:

They weren't for me. Personally, I am content with the OEM style. I had a customer drop off their '80 and asked I would order and install them while it was apart. Eventually, I convinced them to use the OEM's. The problem is how Marlin's people have addressed the issue. Oh well, caveat emptor!

So, what your saying is; we both have a set of seals in stock that we're not really thrilled with? :hillbilly:

That's funny, I ordered a set on 9/12 and have yet to see them....

I was ordering a set for the 62 so I could do the birfs in a couple weeks from then and I figured I might as well get a set for the 80 while I was at it to save on shipping.... Then, on Thursday the 1st, I called to see WTF with my parts, they told me they were on back order, only the 80 series ones, they didn't bother to let me know, or ship the 62 set and a little note,. That would be what professionals do. I guess maybe if I was buying a crawler box, I might of gotten better service.

I called Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters and he took care of me so I could get the 62 front end done on the weekend I had planned to do it on. He gives a s***, even if it is only a few dollar part.

Fxxx Marlin, you fxxxing amateurs

Have your CC company credit you back and he wont need to credit you back:flipoff2:

CC companies will give you the finger after 90 days. My order was done through my commercial PayPal account, but once again the 90 day rule kicks in. I'm not worried about the $20, but wish Marlin's customer service would have treated the situation better than they did.

I've never met Marlin in person, but he has a solid reputation for being a cool dude when it comes to dealing with people. The people running his business though are not doing him any justice.

I totally understand back orders. Part of my business relies on a key product that is produced from smaller parts sourced from several countries before being assembled in New Zealand and then shipped to the US. It is a balancing act forecasting production. Occasionally, we'll step on our d^&*'s and run out of stock. But our customer service group will do whatever it takes to accomodate our customers - and they appreciate it. Marlins group however, hasn't returned my emails or phone calls, often times won't even answer the phone during normal business hours and then acts clueless when asked when the seals will be back in stock. MoGas is right...amatuers!

Unfortunately this isn't the first bad customer service from Marlin has been reported, he likely isn't the best businessman.:frown: I agree that there is no excuse for not keeping the customer up to speed on orders.

But, he is great to talk to, freely shares ideas/tech, is first to jump in and help with broken rigs on the trail and fully supports Toyota events, gives back to the sport. He also has made big advances in design, especially the mini would be still in the stone age without him. In talking to him it's obvious that Toyota wheeling is his passion, he lives and breathes it.

IMHO he deserves a mulligan, I would do biz with him, especially for mini transfer gears, adapters, etc nobody does them better. It's been well documented that he stands behind his stuff, often replacing parts well out of warranty or obviously abused.

I got my seals today. Only took 6 months.

Thats really weird because I ordered some seals in december and got them like a week later for my 60/62 front axle.
