The A442f transmissions regularly out live the engine. That's why tranny rebuildnthreads are nearly nonexistent.

I rebuilt my motor as well. All toyota parts, $4k... tyranny is being rebuilt as we speak. . Didn't make sense to have a " new" motor with 290k on the tranny...

Interested to see how mine is when I get it back. Replaced from the block up all new OEM and Magnuson Supercharger. Have 270k on the tranny.

Yea, Having 230k on the truck and having the transmission on the floor, it made sense to me to get it rebuilt. Trying to hit 500k.

Good news as an update the truck is at the tranny shop and they have totally agreed to fix her up! Should have it back within a week and then need to get it broke in before the big Memorial day trip......

Sure did. It was first a blown head gasket with water in a cylinder. I shortly decided from there I wanted to keep the truck forever and went full go! Once I was rebuilding the engine and had the tranny out I thought it was a great time to get it done. Nothing was wrong with the tranny, call it PM overkill.

Im doing the same thing in process of full rebuild and on the fence about installing my SC
What is your experience?

Ok folks! Just hit 2000 miles on the engine and tranny and she's running smooth. Small issues like a leaky PS connection and a bad 02 sensor but otherwise all good so far..... Now, who can help me with at OBD1 SC????

What does that all do for you? I rebuilt my head and reconditioned my entire outfit before I installed a new head gasket. My motor seems stronk and running through all of the gears on everything doesn't make me feel like I need more power or headaches. Why should I be you?
