Doesn't seem like there are many out there replacing the bearings when doing the low range gear swap, is everyone just finding it unnecessary?

I'd guess its ~50/50 that do bearings when installing with more and more doing full t-case overhaul kits at the same time as the cases get higher miles. We do full bearings on all of the high range gear sets we install here in the shop for example. That said, if you're comfortable inspecting your bearings and running them, many happy customers have and do without any issues.
