Good stuff, they should show some that footage at the movie theaters during memorial day for schools and public viewing. The youngers kids today think its all about video games I think it would be a valuable lesson in history of the sacrifices made that enabled us to be where we are today. I don't know that they're teaching that in school anymore with the weak curriculum's of today's society. If you've never been to the D-Day museum in New Orleans now the WWII museum its a moving place I've been numerous times and never get enough of the place it amazes me every time I visit. We're going back with the Scouts in February and looking forward to seeing all the new renovations they've been working on since my last visit. They put out out a very nice monthly news letter with a donation. Talking to a few of the WWII veterans and hearing their stories is priceless and its very sad we're loosing so many of them on a daily basis and those stories if not documented go with them.
 
hey larry let me know when yall go id like to jum in with yall if i can , been once and that was wle on hurrican duty wile they we shuting it down and didnt get to reallysee it . but yea i wish they would take a week at every school and show this and just foucus on ww2 , and make the kids learn and get tested on it , if u havent seen the series the pacific its deff worth the buy ! and band of brothers

very true Larry but they also know nothing about

anyone or nation that doesn`t remember its past is domed to repeat it

first gulf war
Vietnam
Korea
WWI
Spanish American war
civil war
battle for independence
our Constitution
bill of rights
and the contry as a whole knows absolutely zip about the founding fathers of this once great nation !

when people become lazy about there history, believe what someone else tells em, without due diligence cause the more lies you are feed the harder it becomes to shake free it must be right everyone is doing it mentality, you always wind up with people like Stalin, Hitler, Jim Jones Obama who have the ability to mesmerize the people into a deeper stupor .

Would be glad to have you along bud, bring your nephew we're camping out somewhere over there and he'll love the Scout experience :)

Yup Sadam was a true POS and does fit ;
he ruled by intimidation fear terror
the few that I mentioned & there are many more ruled by the will of the people at least at first anyway & millions died & millions lived to regret it.
come to think of it perhaps that is how we keep the population in check unknowingly.

as far as the educational system is concerned when it is supported with government money it pays to keep the people dumb. besides when has the government take over a task and improved upon it?

those that have children in school ask to see there history books any books on financial info pick up a book a magazine have em read to ya hell ask em do do simple math with pencil n paper bet you see a black hole stare back at ya.
if they have to use a calculator or computer then ask how did you get to that answer & how do you its right? there response will be "it says so" being the calculator or pc the the child has no idea .
don`t even bother to discuss the constitution bill of rights .
if by some chance there is a spark there nurture it because in todays world it is rare indeed!
