In case Tim doesn't see this, he's got them ready to sell. I ordered mine with the drop down basket, but not the sun-roof insert.
That's good to know. I already sent him a pm but haven't heard back yet. Do you happen to know the price difference for the sunroof insert. I will most likely never run the sun roof insert in but if it's not too expensive it'd be nice to have when I do need it.

Think the insert was $125, that's plus the money for the cut out. I should've asked about adding the tabs the insert attaches to in case I ever want to add it later, but didn't think about it at the time. Not that big a deal for me I think when the truth is I've survived this long without a rack at all.

That's not a bad idea, just have him do the tabs and if I find I need the insert later I can order that.

I've already got an idea in my head for a gen2 sunroof hole cover. It's going to be a piece of plastic and 6 or 8 pipe clamps, like this

For the times I need to put gear over the sunroof, that's going to fit the bill just fine.. it was probably overkill to design a cover you can stand on.

Started getting my details added on. I know I'm doing the expo ++ and the drop down basket and after reading this the basic 4 light tabs should be fine. I do want the gussets at each corner though.

hey Redman, owe you an email back... last night I broke my website and email connectivity, but should be back on line shortly. the cool news is my new site is on line now, and a lot of you guys are on it. it is very 100-heavy in content, lots of HIH photos even.

but I didn't realize rerouting a dns meant hosing up your email... bear with me as I pretend to be an IT guy. :)

No problem buddy. Thanks for letting me know.

If you need any help with that I'd be happy to do some work in trade for some $ off the rack you are building me. :) It's what I do every day.

Nakman,

I'm having trouble figuring out where to order a rack and mounts for my 03 LX470 on your new website. Could you link me, PM me, or email me at cnolke (at) gmail.com?

Thanks.

Those of you with a Gamiviti and RTT...What gets in the way while trying to install or uninstall the tent? Are the expo bars a pain to work around? What about the grid? Do either of these make it hard to reach your hand in there to tighten the nuts? Any more than the pain it is to install the RTT anyway?

I'm looking locally for a used RTT pretty hard at the moment and would like to order a rack but the tent will come off between trips since I DD the LX and park in a structure at work. I want installation to be as hassle free as possible so as to not hinder my desire to mount it up for quick trips.

Thanks.

Nate, the Expo bars would definitely be in the way if you're bolting from the sides. I bolt my RTT on from the front and rear- the back I do while standing on the tailgate, and the front I do through the sunroof while kneeling on the seat. Easy to reach under the rack from both of those places. HTH!

OP is slackin on the install here..

First 200-series rack owner! Other than me screwing up the notches for the light bar tabs in the fairing I love it.

-Full length, large Expo++ bar
-3 plates, 3 towers per side
-2 reverse light tabs and 2 reverse lights (flood)
-Sunroof cutout
-3/4 mesh (everything but the sunroof)
-8 gussets
-Powdercoating
-6 200-series towers (+hardware)
-2 light tabs in front facing forward and 40" light bar
-2 light wiring harnesses (one for front, one for rear)
-Fairing

I'm pretty lazy but after putting mine on for the first time I decided that it will be living up there until winter hits. It wasn't terrible to install but it's not something I want to be doing all the time. My hands don't fit well in tight spaces, I had to have the wife help get some of the nuts onto the bolts that hold the RTT on.

Here's a pic from our first trip with our new Gamiviti rack. It did great! At one point it was loaded with RTT, 16' white water raft (deflated and rolled up), camp chairs and firewood and it handled it all no problem.

Yeah I'm sure its going to be a hassle but at least for now it will need to come on and off. I do have a home brew trailer I built but I hate hauling that thing around and don't need its storage space with my 100. Its capable, I ran Black Dragon with it on CM this year after loading it up for firewood for the swell, but to me it would be pretty silly to tow that just to carry an RTT.

Nice, another SLC guy!

What are people doing with their stock racks? Is this worth trying to sell or should I just toss it?

I was going to put mine on ebay and offer international shipping, since list price for all the components is about $1,000 and outside the US the rack isn't standard. Therefore I encourage everyone else to throw theirs away so that there won't be any competing racks on ebay! ;)

I plan to do the same thing that I did with my side steps. Put them on the side of the house and think about throwing them away every time I walk past them.

With Geoffs 200 there might be more market but I just don't see mine selling or even me wanting to deal with what it would take to sell it.

If you wait till the end of the month/beginning of July, you may get to see a white LX with the rack and rtt.

My bank account is about to get blasted :crybaby:

@Ramathorn15 Sounds like it'll be close depending on production schedules...
