I hate the way my '70 55 dash looks with the foam lifting up and cracked. I am looking for some ideas on what to do to the dash. So if you have messed with yours please post some pics.

Talking all of it, gauges, and top. Nice wood work there.

Are you talking actual dash top or gauges?

My gauges look like:

My dash top was cracked and now gone. I'm giving SERIOUS thoughts to doing something in wood as a replacement:hillbilly:

We'll you don't like your cracked one and the new one is to nice so I vote for plywood!:D You know the nice stuff, Birch... painted or stained:eek:. Just messing with ya.

N/P I like the pad, the gauges would prob disappear very quickly since I park on the street.

So all my cajunkajunk is on the left, my guages are above my switches, and my tach and speedo are in the main console.

Did you buy your Haneline gauges online or locally?

it's kind of a pain in the ass. there are about (5) or (6) bolts with 8mm nuts that hold it in on top, and two on the bottom. the two on the bottom are easily accessible, but the rest are as follows:
-> two behind the glove box assembly, you have to take the glove box inside out to get to them.
-> two behind the gauges, you have to pull the gauge panel forward to get to them
-> at least one, maybe two, i can't remember, in the center, behind the defrost/radio area. you have to pull out some of that stuff to get to it.

then, there are to clips, one on each end piece.

undo all the bolts, pull the clips (outward towards the outside of the car), and lift up.
