Well, we're back - what an awesome trip!
I'll let the photos do the talking:
Ames Monument near Vedauwoo, Wyoming:
The Sinks of Sinks Canyon near Lander, Wyoming:
Fiddlers Lake, in the Wind River Range, southwest of Lander, Wyoming:
The Wind River Range, as seen from the Lander Cutoff Road, somewhere southeast of Big Sandy, Wyoming:
The Grand Tetons:
One of the great hotsprings in Yellowstone National Park:
Waiting on Old Faithful:
Artist's Paintpots area:
One of the many waterfalls in the park:
Not to be outdone by the legendary Lower Falls, of course:
The Lamar Valley/Beartooth Highway was simply stunning:
More from the Beartooth:
Who doesn't love saloon girls? (Cody, WY):
Sunset at Boysen State Park just outside of Cody, Wyoming:
5 days, 1500 miles, and 750 photos. A trip to be remembered for a long time, no doubt.
Things to remember:
Tripping & falling in a 100+ year old cemetery isn't as ominous & foreboding as you might expect. We had a great journey, regardless.
Lander & the Wind River area is absolutely gorgeous. Worth a trip unto itself.
The Grand Tetons are cool, even when it's cloudy & rainy.
Yellowstone & GTNP aren't just about the visual - take in the sounds, the smells and the feelings too.
Beartooth Highway is SO worth the drive.
Cody Gunfighters put on a great show, every single night, all summer long. For charity.
Hotel Irma looks/smells/feels like a truck stop, and their service was horrible.
Proud Cut Saloon makes a mean burger, and their beer is cold.
ih8mud members make some awesome suggestions.
Thanks everyone!
