XM radio won't display ID number

Just picked up an 06 LC. Trying to get the XM radio to work but I can't locate the XM ID (aka ESN or SID) to transfer service.

The manual and XM instructions say to tune to channel 000 to see the alphanumeric code, but when I do so no code is shown. XM folks say they have no record of my VIN and need the ID number. There is an antenna on the roof by the spoiler so I assume XM is installed - perhaps not. I thought maybe the XM receiver would have an ID on it, but I haven't located it yet. Checked under the front passenger seat but only found the NAV box.

Can you hear any of the preview channels? What happens when you switch to satellite radio?

You likely dont have the receiver installed. Is it an LX? The antenna you might be the Lexus link.

Thanks guys. It's an LC, not an LX. The factory receiver, if installed, is usually under the passenger seat, right? In front of the navigation box? Wierd it's got the antenna if it doesn't have the receiver.

Not that they'd all be the same, but mine received XM at port and the antenna looks a little different than yours and is mounted on the far passenger side right next to the base of the roof rack. It's possible the PO had it installed then took the receiver out prior to selling but left the antenna. The absence of preview channels makes me think the receiver is MIA too.

This, that looks like a portable unit /aftermarket antenna. Not a factory install.

I assume a previous owner had a separate unit in there at some point in time.

Indeed. Looks like I'll be trying to figure what putting in an XM receiver entails in the near future. Or perhaps I'll just install a Bluetooth music adapter. I'll have to swing by once you wrap up the Red Barron.
