My Vapir Used a variable speed fan and just used a simple pot to control it. Easy enough to retrofit a slide pot in your dash and keep the restomod fan.

Well, similar except it has a separate bezel for the labeling.

I'm not converting to 74 and later.

I think that "Pull For Front Fan" is kind of a rare set-up, they did not use it long.

I also think I have one of those set-ups if it would help your efforts...
 
Regarding getting the “fan on” signal, depends on what you want to do...

I have to imagine that a more modern logic circuit would look for a hi signal(greater than a few volts) or a low(0v) signal, as an “on or off” input.

So, try pulling the signal off the wire leading to the blower motor, After the resistor. This way you don’t have to solder the resistors together.

Strange though that the aftermarket system doesn’t have that wire already included in the harness.

Got a wiring diagram? What is the specified input for off and on?
