anyone ever purchase from these guys locally? I have heard from one mudder and the review was very good. Just curious who else is running these rtt's and if they like them? good prices and I can save on shipping as well as they are local. Any feedback appreciated.

I know the site says it is of the finest water proof material but it looks to be nowhere near the RTT we are used to seeing. This is purely judging by the photos with 0 facts.

yeah I will have to inspect it when I get there, I was told that they are identical to the simpson tents, ripstoff fabric, we will see.....

It looks like tent material rather than the proper canvas. I was in my Hannibal 1.4 during an insane windstorm at the Hammers and it was loud but the tent came through without a scratch or tear. And the bed is incredibly comfortable.

I know its a this post is a little old but I figure I would add some to it because there isn't a lot of feedback on these tents. When I was looking around I couldn't find much info on them but I noticed a clearance tent for about half off. I figured for half off i would take the risk. This was the Newport model. Jason and Sharon at Tents on a Rack were easy and pleasant to deal with. The tent had some damage due to a customer running into some low branches. That was the story I was told anyway and I don't know if it was true. I didn't care, the tent was half off and the pictures looked like the damage was all easily fixed. The ladder had been bent between the top rung and the mounting point. This prevented the ladder from extending or mounting to the brackets. It took a whole 5 min with a torch and rubber mallet to get it straight. the hinge brackets were bent and the center hoop bolts were not installed. Jason at Tents on a Rack had the bolts to put it all back together but left them undone to show how much damage there was. He was honest in showing the damage and wasn't trying to hide anything. It took me maybe another 5 min with a vise to get the hinge plates back into shape. no big deal. The last thing that was wrong was the cover had ripped seams on 3 of the 4 corners and a couple tears. Again, no big deal. A roll of $3 heavy duty sewing thread at the local craft store solved that as well. So after the repairs were made I was able to set up the tent and check it out. I would say that these are on par with the rest of them. There are a few small details that show the shortfall of these tents. The main gripe I would have is in the cover. There is nothing functionally wrong but the detail in sewing and finish are a bit below par. Some material is cut and left bare edge and not folded and sewn such as the small tension flaps that are in the lower corners. the material is heavy vinyl type material that is both rugged and waterproof. There is no need to fold the material due to its construction but it would make for a better finish. Other areas I like better. I would say that many people refer to the Eezi-Awn as the superior product. However most of the Chinese knock offs come with a aluminum frames, aluminum clad floor. In my mind this is much better than the plywood used in the Eezi-Awn. Also the hoops are aluminum and are bent smooth not crimped. The hoops are joined by plastic fittings that provide a smooth snag free operation. The tent is made from a canvas material just like the best of them and sheds water like it should. one thing I see on some other tents that I wish these had is a shock cord inside the tent to pull the material inward when the tent is being put away. As they are, they need a bit of help to make it fold up nice and neat. I would say that for the money you would be very happy with the product you get and will find very few features on the high dollar tents that the Tents on a Rack products don't have. Even at full price I feel that you are getting the same good tent at a lower price when compared to some of the higher priced Brands.
