Crikey!

I have been feeling like the seating in my Pig is pretty weird. The biggest thing I noticed is that my legs had a hard time fitting under the steering wheel, felt like it was a PITA to fasten the seatbelts, etc...

Well I finally get to clean out the Piggy today, and look what I discover!!! Some crafty individual at some point decided to elevate the front bench!

I'll be removing soon. But what is the factory spec fastener for the front bench? The PO is using carriage bolts...

When I was driving it I noticed the same thing but just dismissed it. Crazy. The other thing I noticed was how it feels like you are reclining in the fixed back seat?

Does the '76 feel like you are reclining as well?

Well, I got a few things done on the Piggy, but my rear window replacement was denied.

I tried to get the regulator to move so I could get the new glass in and no dice.

I tore into it and here is what I found:

Are you the one selling those? I need to order up...

Nope, that would be me! Send me a PM and I'll give you the info on it. You've got till the beginning of October to get the payment to me and they'll be in the US mail system out of Miami in mid-November.

Don't give up little piggy!

:frown:

I guess this is turning into the Pig Diaries, or the soap opera Days of Our Pigs...

Driving home this AM from swim practice and the Pig wasn't feeling to good. She just bogged down and died. :frown:  :frown:

Nothing sucks like sitting by the side of the road feeling bad, waiting for a tow...

I'll let y'all know what I find out.

I had a similar issue with the FJ45LV but it was set up for a Latino sized person so I had to sit in the center of the front bench to drive it. Fortunately there were no emergency manouvers required, I'm not sure I could have moved fast enough in such tight quarters!!

Oye!

So I think we cleared up some issues with the FI - bad fuel pressure regulator.

But now as we try to get the fuel guage working, it turns out there is a leak in the gas tank.

:frown:

I guess I have to pull the tank and send it out for repair, or find a used.

Does anyone make a long-range tank for the Piggy?

I have a 49 gallon long range tank on mine. I believe it originally came from Man a fre.

Nice Pig!!!

it hangs down pretty far, that is my main reason for not buying one,,,, one of these days i'll have one made level to the bottom of the frame, should be about 35 gallons and for me thats about a 800 miles range.

You can see it in the pics I have posted in my build thread. It does stick down pretty low and it is baffled poorly. A 30 gallon tank would be perfect I think.

All that being said, it is nice to have all that fuel.

Alright, this is turning into my Pig journal.

Last month has been pretty busy with a job switch and training.

Brought the Pig home from the shop. She has a new fuel pressure regulator and they changed the oil that was full of gas. At this point the tank doesn't appear to leak unless I put a new EC gas cap on. THe old cap lets it puke gas down the side. Great...

Anyway, I got my corrected title from UT and went to the courthouse on Friday. Got a new CO title and plates!!!

So today I replaced the rear window (fun), took the wood blocks out from under the seat, and put on my plates! Legal bacon!

Tomorrow I hope to adjust the drums - currently have to double pump the brakes and deal with pull in the steering.

Still feels like that now that the wood blocks are out.

Did any of the Piggies have a tilt seat back for the front seat?

Anyone know what would make the seat back lean so far back?

afaik, they were all fixed back. it takes some getting used too...just remember, you sit like that cause you're chillin' in a cool ass ride :D

Mine doesn't feel this way.

TJ,

I always assumed that some fat tub-o-lard sat there really hard and broke the back some how. I dunno....sorry.

Congrats on finally getting a Colorado title. I still haven't got all my cash back.

I think you dodged a bullet (the hard way) on the Piggy. She definitely was not DD material when you picked her up.

I finally got to spend some time under her this last weekend. I adjusted all the drums and bled brakes to no avail - the master is blown...

Thanks on the congrats - it felt cool to bolt on the CO plates.

Wow I'm glad I was able to "dodge the bullet" but is sucks that you jumped on the grenade. But at least she's in good hands now and will be taken care of.
