Funny I was admiring the nice soft tops here and I priced them out and shipped with bows it was going to be like 2 or 3K. That isn't going to happen. While this isn't those nicer ones, it will work and I'm totally happy with it.

Well I can button down the back section however I can't zip one side... Maybe I'll let it sit outside in the sun for a bit and see if that helps. Of course with the the warm weather coming may not want to have that back end closed up.

Yeah, an hour of direct sun should make a HUGE difference, unless the stuff is really brittle. Patience, Weedhopper, this may take care of itself.;)

Well sometimes you win on Craigslist, sometimes you lose. I was all set to buy this top - looks pretty darn clean and the rain gutter was in solid shape. Small crack in fiberglass but that was okay mine is good. Told him I'd be there first thing Saturday since the drive is 1.5 hours away. He said cool. Then a few hours later I get the text that he was sorry and sold it. Sonuva... :(. And for 280 measly bucks. Can't even buy a gutter for that. Crud. I was going to take the best parts from my top and cobble together with this. Oh well. I got the cruiser at least.

I had something similar happen to me. Only it was a 72 40 and the seller is\was a forum member. He lived in SC and I was in NC at the time. Negotiated, came up with a price and meeting place. I asked him for his paypal address so I could pay the deposit. Then I heard nothing over the weekend. Late Sunday night he emailed me saying he found a local buyer and the guy just left with it. I was PISSED! We made a deal and then he sold it from under me. I essentially told him if I ever saw him selling anything on the forum again, I would give potential buyers this info for them to consider.

In any case, I got mine from another Mud member and the rest is history (and money)!

OMG that video. I was laughing so hard my wife wanted to see what was so funny, so I played it again. I had to wipe away the tears! She thinks it must be a toy.:steer:

Thankfully it wasn't the Cruiser - that would really hurt. But I spoke to the guy, we hit it off, all seemed good. I was excited - seemed like a really good deal, it was even the correct color! Couldn't wait two days? And he didn't get full asking price which is what I was going to pay. Oh well, just wasn't meant to be. Fortunately I'll be running my soft top for probably the rest of the year now and am in no big hurry. I'll keep searching and someday I'll find the solution to my hard top issues. :)

Wasn't that thing awesome? That guy did an amazing job on that RC model. The attention to detail is shocking with the rust and everything. Amazing patina. Even the windshield wiper marks. Of course, like everything Cruiser, that thing is not cheap! Over $400! The old school audio is pretty awesome too. I think my Cruiser might explode at 85 MPH...

Thanks ginmtb! That guy's attention to detail is awesome! So interesting that I just HAD to read all 8 pages.

Probably a mistake but I'm not painting this thing anytime soon. Might as well enjoy some of the new bling. If I can't get it off without breaking the tabs I'll use that thick adhesive tape.
