my 2000 lc is somewhat unstable at higher (50+) speed - I have to kind of constantly correct the steering. Not terrible but annoying especially when going through a narrow passage at higher speed. I had the wheels aligned 1500 miles or so ago. Is this a known issue? What could it be? I think I need new sway bars as they make a clunk noise when Driving over uneven surface but could that be it?

Have you checked the steering rack bushing and/or rack itself for play?

Check tie rods & ball joints while your at it. Also your front end should be lower than rear (rake) by ~1" IIRC. Improper rake and front end will wonder.

My high mile 98 (247k) had original shocks (and one was absolutely smoked) until this last weekend. I replaced them with OME's before my 864's came in, and wow. Had a 150 mile trip and my rig felt more stable than ever with nearly zero input on the steering wheel.

Not saying it's your shocks, and I may be a lunatic, but I promise it felt more planted.

Well I am certainly a lunatic I ll check it all out thanks

It's not very prominent but I feel it pull on the wheel and I hate having to correct the steering all the time

It's most pronounced at higher speeds when driving along a longer curve - it's also noticeable when going through long tunnels like the Lincoln tunnel in NYC. When you have to keep exactly in your track (or get killed).
