@NLXTACY - What is the timing on this coming out, please? I'm in the "putting it back together" phase of an engine out head gasket job that has included quite a few, while I'm in there, additions. I rebuilt the PS pump, completed the PHH fix, hot tanked the intake manifold(s), replaced all the rubber hoses, sent fuel injectors for service, purchased 1/0 gauge wire for the wiring upgrade, etc.. I've got a few more things to do before the motor goes back in but I'm running out of time. The alternator upgrade is on the list and I'm really set on this specific kit when it is available. Are pre-orders being taken?

I need to throw my hat in the ring here too; need to replace my alternator

Sub'd.
What's the general consensus for which alternator? I remember looking into this a couple years ago and finding a 2003 denso sequoia alternator on Rock auto for cheap-ish.

Do you want 130A output or 150A? There's your choice. Correct part numbers are provided in the Photoman thread.

For what it's worth, I bought a used 150A for $40, found locally on car-part.com, and rebuilt it by following the rebuild thread. New bearings, Toyota brushes, and a Korean-made regulator from eBay. It's not very difficult.

Edit: I bought the regulator from eBay seller fourgreenautoparts for $18.90 in 2020. P/N 126600-150. Working great for two years so far.

27060-0F050-84 is the new part number for the 150 A Sequoia

There's one

And the other

#27060-0F040 130 amp

Sub'd... Latest info?

I'm game, take my money before I spend it on something else.

I am also very interested in a 10% OD water pump pully photoman no longer makes also...

Sub'ed...

How about production of the Speski Cargo Barriers? Is that ever coming back?

Best,

Scott

Looking forward to ordering, already have the alternator.

I fitted a 110 amp denso alt for a 79 series 1hz to my 80 in place of the original 80 amp unit a bunch of years back and apart from an adaptor for the 3-pin connection, and a different factory bracket, it was a cut-and-paste upgrade. Maybe it's different for 80's with the petrol engine but on the diesels there's not really any pressing requirement for a massive output capable alternator.

+1 for interested in a pre-order. Already have an alternator and would be amazing to have this before the head comes back from the machine shop (wishful thinking I know).

If you haven't heard, he has been moving his operation recently. I'd like to get this as well. But, I think he's a bit busy. :)
