Whatever colour you choose will be wrong, so keep life simple and let the purchaser paint it if they want...

I would like it in stainless, anything I have that's powder coated is got some amount of rust on it. Gotta love the rust belt, cool product BTW, I'm in.

Was asked by a handful of folks so far about the Edgestar, had no idea they were so popular. I just ordered up a bunch of polarized plug ends but had some paying around so put one together. I've now added this plug and the kit to the site as well.

Question for you... What wire size are you using to the fridge? I thought it was @ 16 ga.

I am using a 16awg 2-conductor coil wire spliced to the stock ARB or EdgeStar plug which is also 16awg

Thanks, I'm still unclear on using the big Anderson plug for 16 ga. wire. Do you just fill the space with solder? For 16 ga. I used the smaller Anderson power plugs. Just wondering if I did it wrong. I like the idea of a heavier plug, didn't know you could do that.

I'm not a fan of the little power poles. I know they use the same locking type terminals but it just feels chinsy. I like the SB50's size, amp rating and wire size range. Anderson makes smaller wire terminals and they also make inserts for smaller wire sizes. Depending on the application I use one or the other. I fill the terminal cup part way with solder, I tin the wire and then insert the wire into the solder "filled" terminal cup. The wire is NOT coming out. What I have not discussed yet is how I am taking care of strain relief. The coil wire is ROBUST so a lot of fridge pulls would eventually put strain on those 16awg wires. So a strain relief is needed. I'm still testing a few options but I intend on having a solution as part of the kit. I wish I had a 3D printer because then I would know EXACTLY what I wanted. But this won't stop the product from going out because not every application is affected. So once I decide on a solution then I will just send those out to everyone that has already purchased. Hope that helps?

Helps a lot. You say they make a insert to go into the terminal and then the wire into the insert? I just put the power plugs in my 55 and like you, think they are a little weak.

Just picked up the order of mounts! All machined and ready to go. Most of the orders for these can go out! Thanks guys

Did a customer install today to test things out. A couple of interesting takeaways:

• Works great, thankfully
• Even without doing the flush mount install it still came out clean
• Where the SB50 plugs in can be critical because the coil itself can prevent the slide from closing BUT at least it won't damage the coil
• Its helpful to have something on the fridge side to keep the coil from wanting to pull the plug out of the fridge. Not that I think it would but who knows. In the pics the plug goes under the fridge cover which acts as a cable retention device. Works great.

The first two options of strain relief were abysmal. I instead ordered up the red pull handle and drill two small holes to run a zip tie thru. Problem solved. These can finally start shipping out today now that I am happy with it!

Something I wanted to make sure people could see for those looking to use the flush mount version. Now you can make it flat mount but doing a few cuts but you could also make it truly flush mount by also trimming the material a little. Obviously you can't make metal flush mount (maybe thick aluminum) but would work really nicely on wood.
