I am still in the process. Just talked with insurance today and they agreed to OEM glass and trim, but some underlying corrosion and previous installer (hack) drill holes in the body will not be covered.

If your windshield leaks now, I'd check with the shop that installed it (unless it was prior to your ownership).

I'm learning first hand that who installs your windshield matters an awful lot in these cars. I would flat out refuse any repair that involves any kind of screw. Even if that means paying to trailer the car to a new shop. It's hard to screw it up using the correct rivets. It's nearly impossible to do it "right" in a way that isn't going to rot the A-pillar if screws are used. There's a reason the Toyota/Lexus design doesn't use any screws - unfortunately most installers will just use screws as provided in some aftermarket install kits.

Abra Auto glass has it in their system to use factory parts. I had them fight for me and State Farm paid it. There are Colorado locations. Mine came out perfect.

I will put an endorsement out for Rusty @ Blue Ribbon Auto Glass... he has done 3 windshields for me (1 100, 1 GX470, 1 40). Blue Ribbon Auto Glass - Broomfield, CO

Comes to you, doesn't really want to hear about your FSM or your rivets, but when he leaves the glass is in and doesn't leak, and your wallet doesn't hurt that bad. I'm pretty much going to use him exclusively until he retires. a little more info and amusement found in your local TLCA chapter's forum 100 series windshield replacement and he has done a few for the club now all with positive results.

I think the real test will be in 5-10 years when the windshield with screwed trim needs to come out and corrosion has potentially eaten away at the A-pillar. I'm bracing for the painful estimate to fix this nasty spot on mine right now. And this is prior to removing all the urethane that's likely hiding more corrosion that's been festering with screwed (and drilled) trim:

Update: Called Caliber Auto Glass (Caliber and Abra combined), and they are ordering OEM rivets / mouldings for my new windshield. I will update when done.

So he doesn't use rivets, or just doesn't need to hear the whole spiel?

both. In my case I didn't have the riv nuts already from the PO, so he was able to reuse the self-tapping screws that were in there.

That doesn't actually look too bad. Depending if there are a lot of other spots and how deep the issue goes, a decent body shop can do that affordably. I had the sides AND top in similar condition and came to around $1200. Not fun paying for issues due to poor previous fixes, but sometimes necessary.

Checking here also, are there any more recent recommendations for windshield replacement, especially in the south Denver area? Thanks for any help you may have to offer.

Ronnie at Hearts Auto Glass did a great job for me. HeartsAutoGlass.com. He did a great job on the windshield used the rivets that were called for and no screws. I would definitely recommend him.

Safelite did a great job on our 100 when we lived in Denver. They showed up with a windshield that had a bluish tint (per spec?) but asked my wife if we would prefer the bronze tint version to match existing and the motif of the vehicle. The came to our home for the install so they took the blue one back and rescheduled with the right glass a couple days later. Same windshield is in there 5 years later, no issues. Just one guys experience...
For reference, the windshield switched from bronze tint to green tint for 2004 and the rain sensing wiper was allegedly re-tuned.
