Will no front panhard correction make it pull left?

Well trying to track down a long-term problem that I can't deal with any more. Going down the road, especially under throttle the rig pulls left, not hard but enough to have to keep constant pressure on the wheel towards the right. So on long road trips it is very annoying lol

Setup:
Truck has J's + spacer up front and slee castor plates
315's brand new and balanced
front axle completely gone through, even swapped for a e-locked
one wheel spacer on right wheel to keep from rubbing during wheeling, left would rub at compression and turning

Thanks

I did not correct my panhard for a long time and I never had pulling issues

hmm well there goes that idea. i do have a brake light that is more on then off now. The front i just did about 5k ago but rears are probably original (drums), guess i should check these again. What do i look for on drums?

I remember reading something about the rear E-brake mechanism seizing up causing a pulling issue...

All bolts TIGHT? (Shocks, control arms, links, etc?) Retensioned the wheel bearings?

Sounds like you have a odd ball 94 like me with a rear SF axle
If the rear has never been done it is probably time for it
Are you sure your drivers side front caliper is not froze up

ScO: All bolts are tight. I routinely re-torque suspension bolts as i dont like the idea of the tires flying off at 65 mph

Yah oddball 94, no abs, semi-float. Positive of non frozen calipers. Just did a brake job 5k ago and all four pistons moved in and out plus no torn seals.

Rick thanks for chiming in. TRE;s were swapped about 30k ago which is not too long but long enough to be time to be bent. Im guessing removal is the only way to see if they are actually bent. Have swapped tires already.

Pulls left under throttle.....try this experiment:
- drive with the front DS pulled and then
- drive with the rear DS pulled.

Let us know if you still have the same issue under load.

I have been running a 3" lift for five years. My steering wheel has been off for all of that time. I have never adjusted the panhard rod. It has not been an issue.
You might do well to look at other issues like brake calipers, as suggested above.
Check everything, even if you have looked at it before. Even new parts can be the cause of a problem.
In a hot climate, the lube in most components supplied as rebuilt is not good enough. You might need to re-lube, even in comparatively mild climates. Many component rebuilders use white lithium lube, which doesn't hold up under even the lightest use. If you have any rebuilt suspension or brake parts that you have put in, I would look at them first.

Agree with swapping tires side to side. Could be tire pull. I had that on my previous 80.

Also check for wheel bearing play. I know you said the front axle has been re-done, but that makes it even more likely that a wheel bearing could be too loose.

Maybe i'm missing something, but have you tried removing the wheel spacer from the right side to see if that stops the pull? Moving one tire further out from the axle could cause a pull.

I missed that, why are you running a spacer on only one side?
To stop rubbing?
Dont think that is such a great idea
Time for adjustable panhard

One spacer is to stop the rubbing from a wheeling trip the other day. Going to remove both but it still pulled before adding any spacers.

Going to perform some checks today, will keep u posted

Update: I have decided the rear brakes need to be done.
After backing off the rear drums a lot the truck drives very straight plus the brake light is always on now while previousl it was intermittent. I still have lots of pad left but guess its time for them to be done.

BUT....After searching i have come up with very little on experiances with 80 drum brakes.

My question is what shall i order/replace besides shoes? Gonna have the drums resurfaced also but what else can i look for wear or seizing parts on?

How do I properly adjust the drums?

thanks

wheel spacer on right wheel

You have a spacer on only one wheel? Is this common? To me this sounds like a problem. Although the angle doesn't change, the distance from the axle is farther. The right wheel will travel in a larger arc than the left wheel. I would imagine this would mess things up a bit.

If you backed off the brakes and it fixed the pull in your steering wheel you might look at the adjusting mechanism for the drum brakes and like someone said check the e brake. Worn out pads alone shouldn't cause a pull.

* meant shoes haha:doh:
