I was expecting to find a gravel bottom like most all the other puddles in this particular area, so I started in unlocked and idling, and suddenly fell into a big hole. I only got winched back maybe 3-4" from that point and was able to idle right out after that.

Different wheel and tire?

Yes - long story, but yes, the rear is a 36x12.50 16.5" hummer bias, the front is a 315 MTZ radial. So wrong on so many levels, but it's what you do when you need to go wheeling and two tires won't mount and two tires leak.
 
Is it just me or does his panhard bar mount on the opposite side of the axle and frame as mine/every other 80 I've seen?
