When you drive a PIG your a star. Nothing looks as cool as a pig on the trail. Sometimes being cool ant cheap :smokin:

Hmmm, late 70s viewpoint

er, when I bought the FJ55, not MY AGE.

I bought a 1977 FJ55 in Jan 1978 for list: $7500 + cassette deck, no AC.

In the winter of 78/79 I was on a Toyota lot & noticed a new 78. List was now nearly $14K.

I sold the PIG (first time I've ever used that term for her) in 1979. Tried to buy her back twice, but being out of state I was always too late to get to the dealer. Glad to see there's interest in keeping them on/off the road.

There's a guy in LA selling a 73 with an OME lift, rebuilt engine, new tires, all body rot cut out and replaced with new sheetmetal and new paint [red and white] for $8k firm. IMO the only turn off is the 3 speed.

Doesn't seem like a bad deal to me considering the motor and body work.
