Better to find that out now rather than when you are trying to get a 38mm idler bearing to fit into the 34mm Idler gear... Or when your pounding a 38mm idlershaft into a 34mm Split T-case...

Was the kit you purchased listed as the correct kit for your year FJ60?

One some websites yes, and on some no, there is a grey area for my production date: 7/85 and the first website i checked showed that that was a 38mm production, then i ordered it, checked another site (yours i believe) and noticed there was a gap in the dates and that got me concern so i looked into it more and there is indeed a grey area around my production date, i even tried the dealer and he said he had 2 listed.

Anyway, hopefully my measurements are right and all is well now
