Who still makes a 2" receiver hitch?

I tried giving away a spare tire lift but nobody claimed it so it went to the recycler. I do have some chrome FJ60 rims somebody can have. Not perfect but not too rough either. Got a Weber carb that came off my rig for anybody also.

I bought a used one off Cruiseryard for $80. It is badged as a U-haul but when I sanded it down for repaint I found Draw-Tight stamped in the metal. I suggest keeping your eye out for a used one, I couldn't find anyone manufacturing a new 2" one.

Kinda hard to see in this pic. But here it is
I had one like this on my previous 60, 4 bolts to the side channels, two into the bottom of the crossmember.

It had a plate stamped 3500kg for 6 series.
That allowed me to get it licenced and stamped in the papers to tow with a 8" drop equally rated.

I wanna do that to this cruiser, but I can't find any similar hitch anymore.

Here I'm allowed to tow 1900kg, which I sometimes overload for small/short runs, I often end up at 2200 or 2500 with a normal trailer.

Thanks for any help.

Would the class rating be based on the engine's power or the strength of the frame?
Ive seen 2" receivers on Subaru Foresters.

...and the suspension, brakes wheelbase etc. The ratings are for manufacturer liability and are usually quite conservative. I've seen VW Bugs pulling trailers. I'm sure that's not what Hitler had in mind

I've seen a Nissan GTR pulling a trailer. He had spare tires loaded up.

I also have a 2" Draw-Tite unit on my FJ60. Three bolts per frame rail. 6 total. I'm glad I snagged it up when I did. I wish it had a model number on it, then people could search for one easier.

OK, I got extremely lucky tonight at the local U-Haul store. I measured my frame rails inside and out, roughly 38"/42" inside/outside measurements. Then I went to the rack where they keep all the receiver hitches IN STOCK! and checked for ones that might fit. The second one I tried fit amazing. It lands on the rails perfectly and the unbelievable part is that there are two holes near the receiver tube that also line up perfectly with the bumper bolts. I got it home, bolted up the two bolts on the underside of the stock bumper, that held it in place so I could drill the holes in the frame rails. As it turns out there was a hole on each side that lined up there too. This made me smile so I only needed to drill two holes for 6 bolts, not too shabby. FYI the picture of this hitch is not accurate on the U-Haul website

The U-Haul part # is 78300.
Paid $190 for the convenience

Good find! Thanks for posting.
That means I could either go to wrecker and seek Thaoes, Yukons out other chevys, as they probably have something similar.
Shipping to Norway would be killing the deal.

Can you post up some pictures of it mounted?

The factory bumper wasn't rated by Toyota for towing. I don't think it would fare well to towing. There are some aftermarket bumpers that
are built for towing that will do fine
I have a feeling you know someone who makes really nice ones!

Looks great - nice tight fit to the bumper.

Finally, something good in this world by way of a Tahoe/Suburban ;-)

Adding my two cents here. I purchased the Hidden Hitch 87614 off amazon for $140. Bolted up as advertised. I did have to drill two holes in the frame but other than that this item works great. The two bumper bolts bolt right through the stock 60 bumper. I did need to use some spacers in the bumper bolts to get the frame bolts flush with the frame so the hitch angle would be appropriate. The whole thing tucks nicely under the stock bumper and looks like it was made for the 60.

Anyone know if any of the recommended hitches will fit an FJ62?
