Front diff is built, no lockers in this build and I didn’t see a reason to change diff gears even with 33’s. It did get new gears though. Rear diff and axle rebuild is up after the front.

Working towards a fresh rolling chassis! Painting frame this week and if we get lucky coat the underside of the body too. Then mate them back together with new body mounts. Normally we would wait to paint the frame until the power train mock up was done since we will be welding on engine/trans mounts. However, I don’t want to sit on my hands here for the build waiting for the engine/trans. GM Performance said we will be mid February before they can ship. So due to products being used to paint chassis we will treat the paint on the engine/trans mounts no different than a standard swap w/o frame refresh. Ie, paint and touch up after those are welded on. Should not be able to even tell really after it’s done due to the products we are using.

Done! All up we just sprayed 28 tubes of seam sealer, about 2/3rds gallon of LizardSkin and a gallon of top coating single stage white with hardener and reducer.

Taking a break and some fresh air before tear down of the paint booth, cleaning application guns and putting it to bed for the night.

Here it is finished. It’s already tacky but we will let it cure a couple days at the minimum before messing with it much.

Tomorrow we will swap the body and frame on the rotisserie and paint the frame. 😋

That's looking good. What applicator/gun are you using to spray on the lizard skin?

Just the LizardSkin gun.

Which inflatable spray booth is this and how do you like it? I keep looking at these and think I'm going to grab one in the spring for a few projects.

It is a Vevor. They work surprisngly well, one of the few things Chinese these days I can say is worth the money!
