OK so, I'm cleaning up a 1971 Pig, and the intent is to sell it. It's SOA, 35's, lockers, 4X4Labs bumpers/sliders, 350/700R4/Toybox/splitcase, 4WDB, PS. It's a wheeler, but it will look pretty good (from 10') when it's painted.

Question is... what color is most popular? I mean, if the goal is making it look pretty to sell, might as well choose a color that will sell, right? I am only considering stock color schemes... so... what do you guys like?

White and:
blue
red
gray
green
brown
orange

Where's yellow?

brown and orange would not be good sellers.

I like gray. It's currently a good seller with new cars. Dunno if the color translates from the old single stage gray to the newer silver and gray fad, especially with the white stripe. It'd sell good to me, but I'm already set with old cruisers. Really. I am. Don't even tempt me. I don't have room in my driveway. Does it have much rust. Maybe I could use it. Damn!

The red and blue would do well I think. The green is a bit pale for some. My darker non-stock metallic blue and green cruisers looked nice.

I've been wrestling with the same issue. My 55 is currently a sparkly root-beer color. kinda like it but thinking I'll go back to an original 2 tone. It was originally nebula green which I'm not a big fan of. Red looks awesome but only if the sheet metal is smooth and perfect.

I vote dark blue or pumpkin. Yellow looks cool too.

Why not just do pink as Pablocruise has been begging to see all these years?!?! He'll buy it!

Is there both a light blue and a dark blue shade that was original or am I imagining that? Perhaps people have just painted their 55's non stock shades of Blue and I'm now confused.

Let me ask you this - what color was the Pig originally? Probably the only way to preserve value vs. alienating a potential buyer is to go back to orig colors.

What color is it now?

That was question upon opening this thread, "Where is the Pink option?"

All kidding aside, I will be taking my Pig back to original Nebula Green and White.

How about some pics to get a visual on what we're talking about?? I agree that you should think long and hard about painting back to the original paint scheme. I respectfully disagree with an all-white cruiser option...they look dirty easily and they also look like ambulances.

Uncommon color, very few pigs done in this scheme from the factory. Nothing like a big orange and white piggy coming through the woods or over the rocks!!!!!!!! I'm partial. Gary S

I agree - Pumpkin Orange is an awesome Pig!

I love that pumpkin pig. When I first joined the Mud I saw that rig and thought to myself that's the rig I would love to own.....but no paint change for me. Still red/white.

If blue is stock then paint it blue. Somebody won't like whatever color you choose, but if it's stock then it's right, not just your personal taste.

I agree 100%.

Unless you decide to go pink...

Maybe you should just go pink?

Yes, do that! :grinpimp:
