I bet they went to great measures to center the "Toyota" with the bezel upside down. Now it's off center....
Is it supposed to be centered though? I just did a google image search for 1970s FJ40 and I think it’s either 50/50 or 60/40 with more grills having the Toyota not vertically centered. But now I realized my license plate isn’t centered. This is gonna be annoying.

The Toyota emblem is easily repositioned. The license plate holder isn't centered because of how the bumper holes are pre-drilled. It's normal.

So my Fj is finally back with me and running great. I originally got it back from the builder just before the summer but 2 days in the car stopped running. They took the car back to figure out the issue (turned out to be a bad alternator) and to fix a bunch of things I spotted and just finally got the car back a few days ago.

Just got back from a trip to the camel races and figured I'd post some pics here.

Your truck came out really great. You should be proud.

It's fabulous. I really like that color.

I originally wanted to get my FJ40 painted Fashion Green but out of 5 paint shops locally (in Kuwait) and one in Abu Dhabi where my car is being built, only one had the color in their database and the sample I got from them was closer to a blue-grey than a green-grey. After giving up on Fashion Green I decided to go for Nebula Green which all six suppliers had available. But the 5 local suppliers that gave me samples all looked a lot darker than the green in the photos I found online. The Abu Dhabi based paint shop sent me a sample that actually looks similar to the online photos, but it's weird that 5 other suppliers all gave me a similar darker green and he gave me a much lighter one. I'm guessing he might have color-matched it to photos online and not to the actual paint code.

Can anyone help me out here? Does Nebula Green look brighter once on the car? Do the samples look correct? I'm so confused and only have once chance of getting this right :(

You can scroll through my 55 build thread, I have taken pictures w/ other 55s that are allegedly Nebula Green. They all look different...

The camel photo should be a poster. Wonderful build.

Late to the party but that's a Beaut! Quick question - so was that indeed the Nebula Green 622 paint code you ended up with? Could I trouble you for the paint codes for your bumpers and roof? I'm painting my 80 in that same color scheme (and hoping it comes out looking retro and not weird). Thanks!

Yeah 622 for the green and 012 Cygnus White for the roof and front grill.
