Which Event to Attend?

I attend as many local events as possible. I usually do one big event out of the region once a year. I'm reviewing my 2011 budget with the wife and I'm having a hard time deciding on a 2011 trip.

2006 - Iowa Trip
2007 - KOH as a spectator (Not really out of the area)
2008 - FJ45 Run (Not really out of the area)
2008 - Iowa Trip
2009 - KOH as a spectator (Not really out of the area)
2009 - Cruise MOAB
2010 - Alaska Cruiser Trek
2011 - ???

I was talking to the Southern Friends about GSMTR (?) in 2011. If everybody at GSMTR was cut from the same cloth as the guys I met in MOAB 2009 and wheeled with in Alaska in 2010, it would be a great event for me. It was decided on July 4th 2010 that I suck at wheeling in the MUD. So it kinda rules that one out.

I was talking to BKCruiser about borrowing a big trailer and towing both of our Big Rigs rigs east and attending the Black Hills Cruiser Classic in July.

It will be the 20th year for GSMTR. Will definitely be something special. We would love for you to come out and enjoy our southern hospitality. Plus it would be nice to meet you.

BHCC is a small event...not sure why, since the trails are awesome, but it is...

RoundUp is always a blast, with both the hospitality and the music...wheelin ain't bad either...haha

GSMTR is again around my birthday, and I've celebrated there a few times...haven't hit the 'new' one yet, but always enjoyed the past ones (and really, the people make the event anyways)

Ramble is a blast in Hot Springs in June, as is the SCC run in the fall...similar folks, great people, amazing food, wheeling for all levels...

CMCC was a ball...regret not making it this year...

Bill has hit RU and Hot Springs, so that may rule those out as a joint trip...for BHCC, plan a week to do some sightseeing....beautiful country up there...

I'm planning on the BHCC this year, I've been out to that part twice now and have yet to be disappointed! SoDak is awesome! (the western part at least)

Hey Dan!

Glad you are serious about making a trip next year. Their is no way to decide between all of the Cruiser events each year. You just have to say you will get to them all eventually. I'm up for any of them. I like the idea of Black Hills because I haven't been there yet. The Round Up is a huge blast, great country and even better folk, you have to make that one eventually. Like Woody said it's the people that make an event, and you can't go wrong with Cruiserfolk!

The Hi Desert Round-up is a fund raising event for California Association of 4 Wheel Drive Clubs Inc. The event is four days of off-roading, games, food and fun. The Hi Desert Round-up will now take place in Anderson Dry Lake in Johnson Valley.
It is a popular fun-filled getaway weekend for singles, couples and families who enjoy camping, four-wheeling, playing games, winning prizes and just going out to relax away from the city. The terrain is from sandy to extremely rocky, from flat washes to monster hills so be prepared for some great four-wheeling fun.
