Where under the hood did you mount your CKMA12 ARB Compressor?

I'm trying to find a clean mounting solution for a CKMA12 under the hood.

The feet on the compressor would line up perfectly for mounting to the little metal tray that extends off of the Slee Aux battery tray.

Would the vibration from the compressor adversely affect the battery or electronics also attached to the tray?

Slee tray for me. Zero problems and I don't expect any, as solid a mount as any.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I might try doing exactly the same. My only concern is that my T-Maxx Solenoid is mounted right below that tray. Not sure how the vibration would affect that.

I've been planning to expand that tiny Slee tray to be large enough for a fuse box and circuit breaker.

I put my tmaxx in the same spot last year, under the arb compressor. Same as In the photos and without negative effects. I wheel my 100 series hard as well.

My arb compressor is located in the same spot as mentioned above.

No problems to report, it's been a great little compressor!!

Sounds good to me. There were a bunch of threads about the tiny compressor but the new mid size one requires a little more creativity to mount.

I still have AHC or I wouldve done the dual battery and compressor mount the same way as above. Instead I came up with this and so far so good. On the passenger side of my LX there were 4 threaded holes already they just aren't very "square" to each other. I simply drilled out my bracket, found some screws that fit and attached it. I had to use spacers on the bottom bolts between the body of my LX and the mounting plate so it would sit nice and flush. It sits above the little release valve for your vacuum or ? (friend told me what it was but i forgot), My locker lines then point straight down to my break lines for easy routing. Took it to the beach for a 3 day trip, bad weather prior destroyed the beach road so it was rather a rough ride trying to plow and create my own and it didnt budge. Hope this helps!

Not to hijack (but I will anyway)... did you put the rubber spacers for the Slee support bracket down at the fender holes? I had a hard time getting mine to fit and line up.

What year is your truck? That space is occupido in 2000 with EVAP.

It's a 2003, I guess why all those threaded holes are there? Is the system the same just relocated? Or was it completely modified in 2003?

Charcoal canister was relocated to above the spare tire for North America only. Why? I dunno. But it has made all foreign aftermarket aux tanks incompatible without re-relocating the canister.

I always wondered how people fit their solenoid box there. Didn't know it was different. Yeah that's occupied in a 2000. If you relocate the PS Res, Horn and Diagnostic port in front of the aux battery, it will also fit there. I'm going to go for the Slee Tray though.

I think there's just the one rubber spacer for the bolt by the PS reservoir right? Yeah I got that to line up. I had to try tightening the mounting bolts in a few different orders before finding one that worked to keep everything lined up. I think I did that one, then firewall, then upper fender.

Mine is between air filter and 2nd battery, moved PS tank, see post.

Thank you, that's super helpful. That was my second choice way of mounting.

In reference to your post, the ARB manual recommends not mounting the airline to the main air intake because you'll end up with competing pressures. The engine can suck in air harder than the compressor can, so you lose compressor performance.

I suppose you could have a T valve before the air box and choose external or airbox air for those rare water crossings.

I had two spacers. Instructions showed arrows to the support bracket bolts...

I think I have the mini compressor

My compressor fit quite well between the AHC reservoir (2nd battery in the near future) and the air box, but I had to flip that little electronic bit 180deg.

Think it is a non-issue most of the time.
Use of airlockers, runs compressor for just few seconds, not much air needed.
Filling of tires, engine is idling, and not pulling much air at filter.
Some folks may use compressor at high engine RPM, but not me, I can't run fast enough to put air in tires then. :D

I was tempted to try that but was in fear of hoses getting pinched, i like your hose cover/guard though thats a good idea for the air lines regardless of location. I like it! Are you planning on leaving it there when you do the second battery?

I have the ARB CKMTA12 (ARB's double compressor). Here is where I mounted it. The on/off switch is just above the locker knob. Yes this is a 100 series. I have an TJM front air locker using the factory 80 series switch;)

Is that a car horn behind the comp? Strange place for one.

For all the 'under bonnet' installers, what do you do about all the dust its sucking up?

Under the drivers seat has clean air plus there's an air con outlet to cool your feet that helps keep it cold.
