(If this should be in the classifieds section, I'll gladly move it.)

I'm trying to find some parts for the right rear drum brake on my '94. I need the parts that the parking brake cable actuates. Specifically, there are a couple of cables and a couple of levers that I need to get. None of the parts stores can get them, they don't even show up in their catalogs. Couldn't find anything available on eBay, either. That only leaves the dealer, which I'll try on Monday, but I can't imagine how bad that's going to be ($$$).

Any suggestions? Anybody know of a place that parts out minitrucks, or know of someone currently doing so? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Boneyard?

Unfortunately the ones around here are slim pickings. I know with cruisers there are a couple of places (Specter, Cool Cruisers of Texas, and a boneyard in Salida, CO) that sell that kind of stuff. Are there some equivalent businesses for the minitrucks?

As a side note, places that have talked to their lawyers don't like to sell used brake parts.

Just a suggestion. Anything you find used will probably be just as rusty as what you already have. If you don't want to fix it again in six months I would just pony up and get if from the dealer. Time is money too.

Line-Loc....

I'm contemplating the two, and think the LL works better....and will continue to longer...

It's also way less complicated IMO.

Another vote for a Line-Lock. I have one on my FJ40 and absolutely love it. I'm putting one on my '85 now, too. WAYYYYYYYYY better than the e-brake.

A Line-lock is NOT an e-brake, and can't be substituted for one. You can't use it to stop the truck if the hydraulic brake system fails. It's a PARKING brake only.

Some states will not allow it for the annual inspection.

Just sayin...

Agreed. The mechanical system needs to work. That is part of the reason for the e-brake...in case the hydraulic system fails.
