First time I ate at Buccas was with a group of pilots in Indianapolis. One of the capts. was from MS last name Coon (no lie). Other capt was from Long Island last name Fagoni (typical NY Italian). Capt Coon went up to put our name on the wait list and said "coon party of 6" to a black hostess. We waited forever and he (capt Coon) finally went up to hostess to ask if our party had been called. They admitted that they thought it was a joke and were not going to call that over the PA. Capt. Coon left and the rest of us ate a great Italian dinner. Still cracks me up to this day.

They're lucky Captain Coon wasn't an ex-SEAL.

F'ing Navy guys always tossing that one out :D

Actually a SEAL would not have pouted like a baby like an Aviator would.....you know this Doc.....

A SEAL would have used a first name only and probably not the one his momma gave him either ........avoiding the whole Coon last name deal

We ended up at the Barrell since it's on the square. Had a burger and wife had the pulled pork sandwich....both were good.

Did the train ride and merry go round with Elizabeth....good times.....need to get my damn truck going she loves riding in it.

Didn't see the new place you mentioned so I assume you meant North end of town not the Square?

edit: the last minute text was due to the fact we were out and decided it was our last chance to see the lights before we left town

That restaurant I mentioned is Panache' or something like that. It is on the North end of the square. It is new. I have never been. There was a small sign for an Italian place up on the south end of the square and now it is Santa photos. Hope they are just using the space during the tourist season and will get the restaurant open soon. We REALLY, REALLY need a mom and pop Italian joint that you can get a spaghetti or chicken Parmesan in a tin throw away dish for under $12.

I have to admit I have never eaten at RJ Barrel. I generally avoid Canton like the plague. I plan on taking the kids up there to the lights next week and trying the new place.

I just blew $28 on 2 burgers from Char.

They grind their own meet and it was flaky and dry....

Cheese was "aged" cheddar and it was way, way too strong.

Bacon was good.

I will not get another one. I give it a C. It won't be on the list.

their blue plate for lunch ......a $12 burger is NEVER good IMO!!!
