I do have a hood insulator that I purchased a few months back that needs to go on, but trying to merge that little one with a deep clean of the engine bay and under the old one. It’ll happen… just not sure when.

I love them… I mean, they seem like the should be there from the start. I think I owe you a picture of the bottoms… I’ll take em tomorrow. Totally worth it.
I did see them for significantly cheaper as Chinese knockoffs somewhere, not sure of that quality and I think now you can get em stateside. I think when I ordered them, they came from Australia and they were like $350?

This thing is sooooo good… put about 500 miles on it over these last 4 days and it just purrs. H55f / 3FE… it’s peppy (but slow) and fun to drive… feels 1000% like the flagship model to the Toyota line.

Got some small stuff I need to get done on the 62… because the parts have been sitting and need to get installed!
Mainly doing a little engine detailing, hood adjustment, replacing the hood insulator/blanket that I bought a year ago, and some other small things…
All because I’m probably going to list my girl for sale in the coming weeks. I have a 40 project that I’d really like to fast track along with a lot of other projects/vehicles that could probably use some attention…
I love my 62, but only thing that’d make it a monster would be an LS swap, and it’s just too too clean IMHO and ALL Toyota for me to do that…
If you’re on the lookout for a very clean, rust free, documented (in this thread), dialed 62… HMU… I’m not selling it for peanuts, I have almost $50K in it, but it’s definitely going to be listed in the classified section once I’m done with the cleaning/small parts additions…

What a pain in the a$$ this is… replace a leaky heater core… saw some red drops on the sexy Lloyd floor mats and wanted to take care of it before it became a bigger issue.
Had something similar happen on my wifes 1983 ford f100 and it was a MESS…
But Toyota doesn’t make it easy.
Sourced and tested/cleaned a good used unit since they’re NLA from Toyota new… and almost have everything back together.
Basically had to remove the whole dash to get to it.

All put back together and went ahead and replaced the heater valve, hoses, and radiator hose/clamps with some OEM goodness from @cruisermatt

It’s still for sale… but my 40 gonna be a while, and my wife just said I can’t have both of em… and IMO since the 40 doesn’t work and isn’t here, it doesn’t count
So just not in any rush to sell, and still love to drive it whenever I can!
