Here and here this last weekend. About 60 miles past the end of the road. A recent washout in the canyon about five miles downstream forced us to hike the final bit. But it was worth it.
A little of both. It's just flat around here (Central Illinois) and thoroughly uninspiring if you like mountains as much as I do. And there are lots of people who have trouble with basic facts, preferring comfortable mythology to the threat of learning something new.
Let me tell you about the time I sunk the whole wagon train in Glamis.... That Monster sticker also peeled off many miles ago. This was about 2 years ago when I took this picture.
Ive been great, 6 states in 3 years now working for Uncle Sam still. Jumped on as a fully sworn Fed gun toting Ranger. Right now I am on the East coast with another V8 FJ60 if you didnt know I have that as well as the FZJ80. whats new with you?
That picture was taken about 2 months before rolling the 80 over on a soft flop to the roof...It no longer has a roof rack, the roof is dented (barely) and my sunroof still works haha
It pretty much is! That was a great trip, I just wish I had had time to hit Valley of the Gods in S. Utah. I was in a hurry to get to the Grand Canyon to tie in with family.
I feel honored if my truck is gracing your computer as a screensaver. Its Monument Valley in Southern Utah North of the Arizona border and Grand Canyon. Well worth the stop and entry fee (reservation land, $55 bucks I think) The buttes and Mesas are gigantic and pictures dont do it justice!

We access through the sunroof opening. The Alu-cab Exo III is our roof, with the bed in the stowed position we can walk around inside the vehicle. There is a bench/cargo storage, 5 cubby cabinet, fridge, 10.5 gallon water tank and 4.2 gallon hot water heater inside as well.

Yes, I did a 3/4 cut and left the sunroof access intact. I originally was going to go with a CampTeq but I decided (for personal reasons) that I would use an Alu-Cab ( the pioneers of this conversion on Land Cruiser and Land Rover platforms, with Andrew St Pierre White's concept and design ) and did it for half the cost.. more room, sunroof access and proven Alu-Cab quality! The best part is I got to design it myself. In fact I can't say enough good things about Alu-Cab as they are standing behind my conversion and are even sending me a Shower Cube (warranty item) to attach to the passenger side for my shower system.
This is actually where I got my inspiration from. really cool build!
