This could go in the wheel tire area but specifically asking about on a 80.

I really dont like the idea of spacers. But keep thinking anoit 17" so i can try the Micky Thompson tires i want. I keep seeing cheap 17 OEM toyota wheels around that would need spacers. The other day i saw Slee sells spacers. I kind of figure they wouldnt sell them if they were a problem.

I also figure if the spacers just put the wheels near oem 80 offset then it might not screw up driving characteristics. Whats the verdict?

Just buy wheels with a negative offset spacers just add more parts to go wrong…. Unless you just have a mall crawler then let’er buck. Getting quality hub centric rims made specifically for Toyota center bore is the way to go if you actually go off road.

Get quality spacers, torque as directed, and use loctite. Ran them 75,000 miles no problem. If you have the option, I would just buy wheels with the correct offset you're looking for though.

They can work but why add another failure point 🤷‍♂️
Land Cruisers are all about spending $$$ just get the right wheels😎

They are fine, ran them for years without issue. Don’t let the fear mongers get in your head.

The tire you want doesn't come in a 16?

There is no final verdict on spacers. I wouldn't do it.
They dont come in 315/75/16. I could keep stock rims and go down to 285/75/16 which i have considered. I am kind of intreaged by the MT Baja Boss AT. Partly due to their supposedly good snow performance which is important here in MT.

I really like the stock wheels but have fewer choices in 315/75/16. Currently have a set of Toyo AT3 which have been very good. But not amazing on packed snow/ice. Probably nothing but studded snow tires will be great. So thats probably really what i should be looking at.
