(don't worry mods. this will eventually involve a tech question})

Freshly delivered from 🇯🇵. What are your guesses?

True. I guess I will stand by to stand by to see what everyone else guesses.

Yup, dash pad in the oak color. Figured I'd better order it soon before it becomes unobtanium.

The tech part of this post is going to be what you guys suggest I should change out "while I'm in there". I heard it's a bear replacing the dash pad.

I'm thinking maybe heater core and AC components since they're difficult to get to and will probably be a lot easier to access once I take on this endeavor.

Keep it in the box as long as you can 😉

I tackled this job a couple of years ago on my black '96. I remember 3 things:-
1) The feel of the new dash pad compared to the old one is mind blowing.
2) swapping it in was probably the hardest job I ever did on a land cruiser
3) I wish I had changed out the vents. I wrongly assumed they were NLA but turns out they were (at least back then). Not changing them was like having a shower and then putting your dirty underwear back on.

😂 at the analogy. I just noticed some of the vents are available so I guess I'll be ordering those as well.

I hear you on the feel of the new dash.

Thanks for the tips!

If I was to do that job I would collect and horde as many dash related part that are available right down to replacing every light bulb in the Dash.

I guess then I didn’t shower but put on a fresh pair lol

^ what Bro said. Get all the black plastic panels, and a new instrument cluster cover. Leather shift boot for the center console since it also comes out. If you are going to do any new wiring, such as a stereo or switch pro, do it now. Anything that goes through the fire wall should be looked at.
